Baroque Strings Workshop

Attention Baroque String Players! Sonoma Bach invites you to participate in a weekend workshop led by Elizabeth Blumenstock, Baroque violin, and Mary Springfels, viola da gamba. Other faculty members will include Aaron Westman, baroque violin & viola; Shirley Hunt, baroque cello & viola da gamba, & Phebe Craig, harpsichord.

This intensive weekend course will include technique & repertoire classes as well as ensemble work culminating in a final performance. This exciting opportunity is open to emerging professionals, enthusiastic amateurs, & auditors who seek a grounding in the style, technique, repertoire, and rhetoric of Baroque music. Participants will have the opportunity to play a variety of Baroque repertoire in both small and large ensembles by a variety of composers. Harpsichordists are also invited to apply. This workshop may serve as an introduction to Baroque technique for modern string players.

The Sheraton is offering a discounted room rate for participants of the workshop. Rooms (Double or Single occupancy) are available for $133.38 per night. If you share a room, your portion would be $66.69 per night.
A personalized Web site for Sonoma Bach has been created. Partipants and auditors can access the site to learn more about the event and to book, modify, or cancel a reservation from November 30, 2012 to January 6, 2013.

Fees:
Application Fee: $25 (non-refundable, will be applied towards tuition upon acceptance)
Participant Tuition: $250/$225 (full-Time Student)
Auditor Tuition: $125
Commuter Fee (for participants/auditors who do not stay at the Sheraton): $60
Meals: Bagels, Pastries, Tea, and Coffe will be provided on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Faculty Concert Tickets: One ticket to the faculty concert is included with Participant Tuition.
Application: Applications will continue to be accepted until the workshop is full.
