Score from Artaserse
During his brief career, the Neapolitan composer Leonardo Vinci (?1696-1730) became one of the most famous opera composers in Europe, renowned for his ability to set music to words and to let singers shine. We’ll listen to the last act of his last opera, Artaserse, featuring the astonishing countertenor Philippe Jarousky in the title role.
